Brian Kiely

Brian Kiely has been a solicitor with Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan since 1982, and was made Managing Partner in 2001. He has worked in private practice for over 30 years, and has represented private and corporate clients throughout the Southeast of Ireland and beyond. Brian became a consultant in the the firm in 2020 when John Hickey took over as Managing Partner.

Brian specialises in the area of commercial law. He provides a specialist expertise in supporting clients through the process of mergers and acquisitions, as well as other commercial arrangements such as licences, joint ventures, franchises, etc. Clients value both his detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of commercial law, and his vast experience in helping negotiate commercial outcomes that are optimal for the client. He also has deep experience in the area of commercial property, including buying, selling, leases and licences, due diligence etc.

Brian has developed a speciality in the area of wind farms in Ireland, having acted on behalf of developers in the development and implementation of wind farms since 1997. The commercial department at Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan has gained recognition as one of the leading experts on the legal aspects of wind farms in Ireland. More recently other renewals projects such as solar energy have been advised by the firm.
