Choosing The Right Medical Negligence Solicitor

phkl-med-neg-solicitorFor many people choosing a solicitor is simply a case of asking a friend for a recommendation or walking down their local high street to look for a solicitor. Whilst this may work for some general areas of law, it is important to note that there are many specialist areas which require the attention of a solicitor knowledgeable and experienced in that area of law.

One specialist area of law is medical negligence which is involved in helping you, or a loved one, who may have suffered as a result of negligent medical care from your healthcare professional. In cases such as these it is vitally important that you engage with a solicitor who is experienced in medical negligence and understands the various nuances of medical law. Whilst you wouldn’t employ a bricklayer to tile the roof of your house, the same can be said for medical negligence in that you shouldn’t employ a conveyancing solicitor to oversee a claim for such a complex area of law.

Medical Negligence claims are quite technical and will require the input of a number of different health care experts and professionals. Owing to the existence of strict time limits for making a claim for medical negligence, for example, it is imperative that you instruct a competent solicitor who will provide you with clear updates and work within the specific time limits which exist.

pkhl-medical-negligence-guideWhilst it is of great importance to engage with a solicitor experienced in medical negligence law, when all is said and done, it is also important to engage a solicitor who you believe is genuinely interested in your case and whom you believe will push and push to achieve the best possible outcome given your situation.

If you have suffered as a result of medical negligence you will most probably still be suffering from some form of discomfort or pain. It is therefore your right to have the opportunity to seek an appropriate award for damages which will allow you to continue to receive some form of treatment in order to reduce the level of pain or discomfort you are suffering.

You therefore owe it to yourself to find a solicitor who you believe ‘gets you’, is experienced in medical negligence law, and empathises with your particular situation.

If you would like to discuss your current circumstances and the injuries which you believe have been as a result of the negligent care of your health care professional, please get in touch to arrange a confidential, introductory consultation with an experienced medical negligence solicitor from Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan.
